justFRED.ca is an online portal launched in late 2006 for the community in and around Fredericton, New Brunswick's capital city. The site includes free classifieds, a rich media community directory, dozens of photo galleries, an active calendar, and online forums presented in a highly visual format.
justFRED.ca posts in excess of 1,000 photos and videos each month of everyday life in this small city in eastern Canada, people skating, dancing, singing, walking, shovelling snow, curling, painting and so on. We record musicians, photograph art, capture a potter at work, visit local businesses, the emergency shelter, the Saturday farmer's market, and generally provides an alternative online source of local information.
And justFred.ca is generally giving something away: free lunch, dog treats, gift baskets, theater tickets, pizza, toys, and whatever else they can convince their advertisers to provide to their members as prizes for the sometimes serious and sometimes silly contests.
